Peanut woman and I have assembled together on her peanut platform for some action, like peeling peanuts. How many times I can write peanut in this post? Peanut. Peanut. Peanut. Why? (The move, not mentioning peanuts.) I just figured ‘why the hell not?’. I can have peanut in my URL, and Nina and I get up to some crazy shit together all the time anyway. ‘canityo.info’ will direct you to my short-lived solo WordPress home which will tell you to get your bum back here.
I’ve been prancing down memory lane with Savage Garden and The Cranberries. And of course, naturally I end up having a nostalgic screamfest with Boyz II Men as well. COOOOOOOOME TO THE END OF THE ROOOOOOOAD! I am absolutely devastated that I won’t be able to make it to their November concert. This is probably the only regret I’ll having choosing an internship over a paid job. Boyz II Men cops the aftermath of my splurging ways. I’ll be grossly sobbing in the corner of my room on their magical night. I may even get ridiculous and sit outside State Theatre and sob.
Speaking of splurging, Amazon had an insane deal on Joss Whedon titles and so I was forced (IT WAS 65% OFF!!!) to purchase the entire set of Buffy and Angel. It will go nicely with my Buffy throwback. I’m a little more than halfway with Season 4. Trudging through it because of the lack of the Angel and Oz and abundance of assignments. But I foresee a very Buffy November, a Buffvember.
Other than me spending unnecessary money, the last two weeks of October was swell. This is pretty much what went down…
I finally got some reading done!!!!! Yes, multiple exclamations are required as I haven’t read a good book in such a long time. I was beginning to think the (book) worm inside was dead. But along came Junot Díaz with ‘This Is How You Lose Her’, which was a really good read. I probably would have enjoyed it a little bit more if I understood Spanish, but it was still a breath of fresh air.
Next was John Green’s ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. This one was a complete corker. I was definitely gross sobbing two thirds into the book. Look, when someone recommends you to read a novel about cancer patients…DON’T DO IT. My heart was ripped to shreds. If you’ve seen 1 Litre of Tears, you’d be able to relate. The novel itself was great and I will definitely be checking out other titles by John Green. At the moment, I’m currently taking on ‘Gone Girl’ by Gillian Flynn. Here’s the thing with crime novels and I, I can’t do it… The most I did was with Dexter and that was up to the third book only. I couldn’t do it with ‘The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo’ either. Fingers crossed and dances around the rock that this time it’ll be different and I will be completely swept away, right?
After Friday, there will be an extreme increase of cooking and food pictures. Mother and Shirley will be heading off to Canton soon and the tasks of being the housewife are naturally bequeathed upon me. I’m probably the worst possible candidate, but I’ll take it as a chance to spice up my cooking skills (see what I did there?).
IT’S THOR TIME. EURAAAAGHHH!
Thor’s been great! He has gotten so much fatter in the last two weeks, he doesn’t even look like a pup anymore.
He likes to eat flowers, which is unfortunate for the plants.
He always gets slapped by the cat.
But somehow he still remains as the happiest fella in the house. He responds well to the tricks we’ve taught him (sit! come!), so he’s just a complete riot.
November will be insane, hopefully I will be a diligent peanut trooper through it all.
Over and out.
P.S I had a haircut and got a DSLR. Peanut is a great word.
