I took a little trip up to Columbia University tonight for Talent Complex’s (the band AJ is a part of) concert, which was unfortunately cancelled due to venue issues. They promised a concert was coming early next year though. I was still very stoked to see AJ again after three years and had a great chat with him, though I miss him on stage. He seems to be chillin’ and groovin’ to uni life. I would do a full recount of our interactions but he requested otherwise.
It was only a half an hour bus ride from my place to Columbia University so it wasn’t too much effort to make my way there. The campus itself is worth seeing anyway. I liked the mood of the campus a lot more than when I visited Harvard. I’m not sure if these two are even comparable but they are the only U.S campuses I’ve been to. Both are far prettier than any Aussie university, that’s for sure.
The most breathtaking part of the main quadrangle were the two libraries. They look so grand. I did quickly explore the other areas of the campus and it was really nice to walk around, especially since tonight is so warm (psssst, where’s the snow?).
I swear I’ve seen a similar building in Monsters University — maybe Pixar took a bit of inspiration from here?
Walking around the campus made me miss uni life so much, even though I’m so glad to have graduated already. Also ignoring the fact that I never actually liked uni life or engrossed myself into it. I guess you can’t help but feel inspired when you’re on a great campus. For a hot minute, I considered enrolling in a post-grad course.
How fun would that be.
