I made my first Peppermayo order last November, and since then I’ve made an order every 2-3 months. And as much as I do love the vibrant personality of the brand and some items they stock — sometimes the item I receive are very much “hit or miss”. I’m more careful when I order now, because I’ve bought a few dresses I don’t think I’ll ever wear. Anyway, I recently bought this lovely white summer dress and thought I would write some thoughts!
The original listing for the Jamelia dress can be found here, and it’s not surprising to see that it’s already sold out! I mentioned previously in my first review that Peppermayo has an unbelievable turnover rate and items become out of stock in a blink of an eye.
I’m usually a size 6 at Peppermayo (though sometimes they don’t stock it!), so it goes for this dress too. It’s so amazingly comfortable and perfect for the sudden Spring heat we’ve been having in Sydney lately. The dress is so great because it’s versatile and can go with any shoes and accessories. You can dress it up or down. If you know me though, you’d know I’d never be too crazy so simple is the best way to go!
I’m wearing the Jamelia dress with a pair of white clogs from Novo, which are incredibly comfortable. I hate wearing heels, but these are definitely the exception. If anyone has any wonderful ideas on where to get comfortable heels, I may love you forever.
Overall I’m loving the dress and I can see it being one of my favourite pieces this summer. The only concern I really have is how transparent the material is. For a dress like this, it’s definitely better to be conscious about picking lighter coloured panties to wear underneath. I usually wear “safety shorts” (which are black) and I tested them out underneath this dress too. Sadly, you could see a vague outline. If peeps were to pass you by on the street, they wouldn’t take a double glance at you — but this is just one of those things where if you know about it, you’d constantly be checking. Just for the record, the dress does have a second layer of lining which helps with the transparency but it’s still not enough for blacks to be worn underneath.
That’s all I have to blab about for this order. If time permits, I might do some backlogging reviews of the previous orders I’ve made earlier this year. If you’ve got any Qs or thoughts about this dress too — would love to hear ’em below. And lord, I really need a haircut.
By the way, Thor says “Haaaaai”. :)
