NYC has as many pups as it does people. Since moving to NYC, I’ve seen the cutest and sweetest dogs running around town. It also doesn’t help that Brad and I live in a dog-friendly apartment complex. I miss Thor (pictured above is baby Thor!) dearly and I’ve started seriously consider fostering dogs. I had thought about being the forever home for a dog, but NYC is not my forever home. I don’t want to put any pup through the ordeal of moving from country to country. Not to mention the awfully strict laws in Australia when bringing a pup into the country.

So…I think in early 2016 I’m going to start looking into foster groups in NYC. There are a lot of things we need to factor in before we commit ourselves though. Things like: how many hours will be home, do we comfortably have the cash to spare, is our shoebox big enough, etc. I really want to help out the furry friends out in NYC and before I do that I just need to get settled myself and see how I can help.
In the meantime, I’ll look up these places for details:

If anyone has been through the fostering system for pups in NYC, I’d love for you to contact me or make any suggestions. Feel free to comment or tweet me at @canityo.
